Sunny Leone is finding it hard to get a hit these days at the box office, but that has not stopped her from accepting new challenges when it comes to movies. In what looks some really happy news to her fans down South, Sunny Leone is all set to do a fully fledged South role in Telugu cinema with a historical war movie,
The yet-untitled movie will be directed by VC Vadivudaiyan, who previously made Tamil entertainers like the crime drama Thambi Vettothi Sundaram and the supernatural thriller Sowkarpettai. The plot of the movie will touch the culture of South India and the film will be made on a huge budget, with technicians from Baahubali series working on the project. Sunny Leone is reportedly playing a warrior in the war drama.
Sunny Leone confirmed this project in a video she posted where she said, “I am so excited about this film. I always wanted to shoot for a film like this where I would be playing a warrior. Just doing something different. My first ever full fledged film. My character is extremely strong and I think if there is any representation of woman I would love to play would be her because she is a strong and independent woman. Some reports are claiming that this would change my image, I do not believe in it. I believe everything is a stepping stone towards something greater.”
Later speaking to another website, she revealed that it didn't take her much time to say yes to the project. She said, “I have always liked doing action sequences. I was waiting for a script like this only for years. I started preparing for this movie from the minute director V C Vadivudayan narrated me the script. I have a special love towards south India so I am very happy to do a straight Telugu movie. I have a lot of my fans in South India, especially Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala."
Sources say that Sunny Leone has been given a call sheet for 150 days, and she has begun taking lessons for horse-riding and sword-fighting. The movie will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
While this may be Sunny Leone's fully fledged first role in South, she had previously done a supporting role in Telugu movie Current Theega. She has also appeared in a couple of special dance numbers in a few South movies.
